Pownalls is our very own fine food shop – a veritable store cupboard full of delicious delights hard to resist. Our aim is to bring you the best locally sourced, fresh produce, all the basic essentials plus an array of speciality foods to indulge and delight.
Our chef, Bob, from the Lime Tree Restaurant produces fresh produce daily that is available to purchase in Pownalls. From quiches through to specialities such as game pie, delicious cakes, tarts and speciality cooked ham, turkey, pork and beef. There’s lots to choose from and the range changes daily. You can also pre-order food for parties and special occasions – see staff for details.
We have delicious fresh pork sausages, bacon and pork pies from local farmers as well as free-range bronze turkeys and chickens. All our meat is sourced from quality, well-known local suppliers.
Where possible we source produce from local suppliers such as Tyrrells handcooked potato chips from Herefordshire, quality speciality wines from Stratford wine merchants, Vin Neuf and Hogan’s Ciders from Alcester. A superb range of fresh bread is delivered daily from Shipston, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables from local suppliers and … if you fancy a night off from cooking or are looking for something different when you next have guests, our gourmet frozen meals from Cook come in individual portions and family portions from traditional well-known dishes to some amazing different flavours such as braised beef in brandy and mushroom sauce. You can buy desserts from the Cook range too which are great for parties.
Mouth watering yet? Well it doesn’t end there, for delicious cheeses, olives, cooked meats and pate visit our deli counter. If there’s too much choice, try a sample of what you fancy first to help make up your mind.
