Enviromental Policies

 Organic & Peat Free

We stock an ever increasing range of organic products and a selection of peat free compost here at Stratford Garden Centre.

These include various organic foods in Pownalls Fine Foods, organic plant feeds, insecticide  and weed controls in our garden shop area and peat free alternative compost

Packaging

Here at Stratford Garden Centre we try to recycle the majority of our transport packaging that cannot be reused.  All our cardboard waste & wooden pallets are recycled.

We promote and sell reusable shopping bags and offer a choice of carrier bags which are made from totally degradable plastic (EPI).

Watering

The rainwater which comes off the building runs into a natural pond.  The water from the pond can then be pumped into our irrigation tank to water the plants again.  Therefore recycling the water to help the environment.

FSC Policy

All the wooden furniture we stock is FSC certified. (Forestry Stewardship Council). Being FSC certified shows that you comply with the highest social and environmental standards on the market. As public concerns about the state of the world’s forests and timber resources increases, FSC provides you with a credible solution to complex environmental and social issues.
